About the founder

Francesca Serafin, founder of Serà Fine Silk, has been passionate about fabric since childhood—especially silk. One of her most vivid memories is from a family trip to the Northern Italian island of Pellestrina, where the reflection of the sunset on the sea reminded her of silk. That image sparked a lifelong love for the material and inspired her to weave silk into every aspect of her life.

Francesca pursued a legal career after graduating from Bocconi Law School in Milan, working internationally as a corporate lawyer in the United States, China, and Italy. After earning a master’s in fashion law, she realized her true passion lay in fashion design, particularly in luxurious fabrics and timeless Italian style. In 2013, she created her first pocket square using vintage silk. Encouraged by the response, Francesca hosted a small event and sold 50 hand-sewn pocket squares in one evening. From there, what started as a passion project quickly grew into a business.

How Serà fine silk was born

In 2014, Francesca committed full-time to Serà Fine Silk, transitioning from vintage fabrics to designing exclusive silk accessories Made in Italy. She launched her first full collection of Italian silk pocket squares, along with custom-designed ties, bow ties, and suspenders, all crafted in Como. The brand name, Serà Fine Silk, is a play on Francesca’s surname, symbolizing both fine quality and a dedication to silk craftsmanship. The logo, inspired by a vintage mirror Francesca restored herself, blends the regal elegance of Italian heritage with the modern spirit of the brand.

Based in Milan with all production in Como—Italy's historic silk district—Serà Fine Silk is a proud ambassador of authentic Italian craftsmanship. Francesca draws inspiration from her surroundings, especially her roots in Verona, one of Italy’s premier wine regions. Her passion for culture, travel, and nature has led to collections inspired by Italian wines, Mediterranean islands, and Italian gardens. Every piece is conceived, designed, and packaged entirely in Italy by skilled artisans using the finest Como silk.

From Italy to the world

Since debuting at Pitti Uomo in 2018, Serà Fine Silk has brought luxury Italian silk accessories to international audiences. The brand has exhibited at global events like Salon de la Lingerie (Paris), Moda Italia (Tokyo), Chicago Collective (USA), and exclusive trunk shows in New York.

At every stop, the mission remains the same: to share the elegance and excellence of Made in Italy silk accessories with the world.
